Ghana Health Mission, Inc. is a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation that is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are needed to purchase medications and supplies and to pay for food, hospital care, or medicine for needy patients of the clinic.

Donations to support the work of GHM may be made by sending a check to

DONATIONS

We bring all of the medicines and supplies for the clinic with us, and most of them are donated. We gratefully accept the following items.

All medications and supplies must be in-date and are donated to the community upon our departure if not used. None of the medical supplies can be outdated or they will be confiscated at the airport.

Medication

  • vitamins with folic acid, iron and vitamin B complex and mineral 
  • NSAIDS for arthritis, muscle strains, etc. 
  • antifungal agents (cremes, gel, oral griseofulven, diflucan, nystatin) 
  • antiparasitics (vermox, flagyl 250 mg/375 mg/500 mg tabs, elimite, rid, nix) 
  • cough expectorants (tussi organidin in adult and liquid form) 
  • antibiotic ointments (bactroban, erythromycin, tetracycline) 
  • gastric medications (zantac, tagamet, carafate, mylanta, maalox, metamucil, colace, prolisec, propulsid, etc.) 
  • cortisone ointments 
  • deep-heat-for-arthritis gel 
  • eye drops (sodium sulamed, tetracycline, erythromycin)
  • respiratory inhalers (ventolin/albuterol) 
  • nasal spray inhalers (nasarel, nasalcrome, vanconase DS, nasalcort, rhinacort) 
  • Claritin or Zyrtec antihistamines (adult and children dosages) 
  • quinine for chloroquin-resistant malaria 
  • chloroquin for those in need 
  • tetracycline capsules
  • macrobid/macrodantin 
  • augmentin, amoxil, penicillin for infants, children, adults 
  • keflex, second generation cephalosporins, cipro, cedax for children and adults 
  • erythromycin products (zithromycin) 
  • HCTZ 25 mgm tabs 
  • silvadene ointment (1 jar) 
  • oral rehydration solution packets 
  • acetamenophen 
  • Benadryl liquid and oral tablets
Medical Supplies 
  • medicine cups and syringes for mixing meds 
  • alcohol and peroxide and hibiclens solution, antiseptic hand gel scrub 
  • dressing supplies 
  • 4x4’s 
  • telfa 
  • kling 
  • slings 
  • tape 
  • non-sterile and sterile gloves [prefer latex-free if possible]
  • elastoban 
  • ace bandages 
  • urine home pregnancy tests 
  • urine chemsticks (9-category strips) 
  • blood pressure cuffs and stethescopes willing to be donated
  • tongue blades 
  • otoscope disposable ear pieces for adults and children
Other  Supplies 
  • powdered soy-based infant formula, rice cereal 
  • writing pens 
  • toothbrushes/toothpaste 
  • plastic trash bags 
  • small bags/bottles/etc. to distribute medicine, brown bags 
  • soaps and shampoos (antibacterial and moisturizing) 
  • lotions and aloe gel 
  • sunglasses (paper, etc.)
